Category Buyer - Toys, Household or Practical Goods
Stansted, Essex - Hybrid: Office-based three days a week, two days wfh.
£45k - £50k DOE
This role is for a dynamic and results-driven Category Buyer with a proven track record in categories such as Toys, crafts, hobbies, home and furniture, kitchen and household, garden and outdoors, DIY, or health and beauty. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience sourcing own-label products from China, focusing on margin optimisation and filling category gaps. You will also have experience adding products to catalogues and buying experience in buying practical problem-solving products.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create a balanced product range, focusing on price, quality, and own-label products.
- Maintain up-to-date commercial knowledge, with a focus on European trends.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, focusing on range-building, sample review, and negotiation for own-label products.
- Use commercial acumen to approve cost pricing and ensure products meet margin targets.
- Deliver products aligned with seasonal trends and customer demands, managing timelines across the UK and Germany.
- Attend international trade shows to establish new supply routes and strengthen the current supplier base.
Profile: A successful Category Buyer for this role should have:
- Buying Experience in Toys, Crafts, Health & Beauty, or Household Categories.
- Catalogue Experience catalogue planning, pagination layouts, and guiding marketing teams.
- China Sourcing Expertise
- Experience in attending trade shows and international travel
Job Offer
- A salary ranging from £45,000 to £50,000 DOE per annum.
